Ladakh

I’m on top of the world…

Ladakh sits high on our list of epic destinations, and for good reason — there simply isn’t another place like it in the world! With direct flights to Leh from Delhi and Mumbai, the last frontier in the Himalayas is much more accessible now, and summer is one of our favourite times to visit.

While Leh is terrific for culture, festivals and buzzing markets, we love Nubra for adventure.

Whether its mountain biking down steep slopes or rafting on the Zanskar, revving an ATV through the sand dunes or taking a ride on a Bactrian Camel as you relive the days of the Silk Route… Nubra is a revelation.

Another thing we love about Ladakh is that the stays are extremely experiential. From luxurious tented camps to ancient palaces, charming ethnic villas set in serene environs to charming and authentic homestays, there’s a surprising array of unique stays that dot the Ladakhi landscape.

Nomadic foodie? Discover ethnic cuisine at the Alchi Kitchen or pick apricots off the tree in the orchards around Stok.

Love the rush? There’s nothing quite as exhilarating as river-rafting down the snow-fed Zanskar.

A touch of drama? Don’t miss the colourful tsechus and festivals that take place at various monasteries across the region.

Glamp It Up!

Glamping is the way to go, and The Ultimate Travelling Camp (better known as TUTC) experiential tented camps in Ladakh gets its right.

Stay in luxurious tented suites at the Chamba Camp Thiksey, set against the serene backdrop of Thiksey Monastery in Leh, and Chamba Camp Diksit, located in the stunning Nubra Valley. Canopied beds, handwoven rugs, wooden floors, private en suite bathrooms with running hot water, and sweeping outdoor decks make these tented suites an absolute delight. Delicious cuisine and warm service, set in the heart of Ladakh’s surreal landscape, makes the stay an experience unto itself!

Vivid, vibrant and full of surprises, Ladakh is a revelation – and definitely the trip of a lifetime!
