Cultural, creative and charismatic, this city will win you over immediately. Plunge into the jungle when you visit Kaziranga, one of India’s best-known national parks. This is a natural habitat for the One-Horned Indian Rhino, tigers, elephants and several species of rare birds and reptiles. Visit tea estates in Jorhat, and tribal communities on Majuli Island. Guwahati – Your gateway to the north-east of India

Upon your arrival at Guwahati airport, meet your Orange representative and driver and proceed to your hotel. Check-in at the hotel, and relax for a few hours. This evening, embark on a breathtaking sunset cruise along the majestic Brahmaputra River (subject to river conditions).

Located on the Guwahati-Shillong highway in the commercial and cultural heart of the capital of Assam, Vivanta Guwahati is an urban retreat designed for global business travellers and adventurers.

This morning, visit the ancient Kamakhya Temple atop the Nilachal hill, dedicated to the goddess Kamakhya. Later, explore Sualkuchi, known as the “Manchester of Assam,” famous for its cottage industries and handloom weaves. This evening, take a fascinating river cruise on the Brahmaputra (subject to conditions).

Guwahati to Cherrapunjee – Mystical and Magical

Check out after breakfast and head to Cherrapunjee. Pause en route to visit scenic Umiam Lake. Upon arrival, check-in at your hotel and evening at your leisure.

(Note: during dry seasons, the waterfalls may not flow as heavily).

Cherrapunjee – Shillong – Mesmerising Meghalaya 

After breakfast, travel to Shillong, stopping at Elephant Falls en route. Upon arrival in Shillong, check in at your hotel. After freshening up, set out to visit the Don Bosco Museum, Wards Lake, and stroll through the local market in the evening.

Overnight: Vivanta Meghalaya Shillong

Kaziranga National Park – Jorhat – On The Tea Trail

After breakfast, check out and transfer to Jorhat, renowned for its lush tea gardens. Check in at a tea bungalow. If you are interested, take a guided walk to learn about the history of Assam Tea.

Overnight: Thengal Manor

Thengal Manor is a hotel located in Jorhat, India. The regal, colonial style mansion was built in 1929 and offers comfortable accommodation in the center of nature. Guests can enjoy exploring the sights, sounds and arts/crafts of the local Assamese village.

Majuli – A Cultural Kaleidoscope

Explore Majuli Island after breakfast, known for its cultural depth and communities steeped in traditions dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Visit Anuati and Uttar-Kamalabari Sattras, and interact with monks to learn more about their way of life. Explore life on the island as you pause to visit Mishing tribal villages, pottery kilns, mask-making villages, and a traditional mustard oil mill. Return to Jorhat for an overnight stay.

(Note: To visit Majuli Island, one has to take a public ferry operated by the local government, which runs according to schedule.)
